History CNP

The Association CNP Creative Network of Peace

Creative Network of Peace (CNP) was founded in the year 2000 – 2001 as nonprofit organition in Switzerland and Germany and is neutral in respect to politics and religion. CNP will help to remember the Manifesto whilst the Decade of Peace declared by the UN from 2000 - 2010.

The General Assembly of the United Nations has proclaimed the year 2000 the "International Year for the Culture of Peace". A groupe of Nobel Prize Peace Laureates drafted MANIFESTO 2000 on the occasion of the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

In the meantime the UN declared the whole decade to be the "International Decade for the Culture if Peace"

The 6 Points of the MANIFESTO:

1- Respect all life    2- Reject violence    3- Share with others

4- Listen to understand     5- Preserve the planet     6- Rediscover solidarity

This demands the participation of each one of us, and offers

young people and future generations the values that can

inspire them to shape a world based on justice, solidarity,

liberty, dignity harmony and prosperity for all.

Because the culture of peace can underpin sustainable developement, enviromental protection and the well-beeing of each person.

The "Regio Gallery" in Basel had, in the aftermath of the festival, exposed the best of the children's works of art in the three countries Switzerland, Germany and France.
They expressed their view of peace in relation to the MANIFESTO 2000 of the UNESCO
in colourful paintings.
One of them - a big mural showing the word "PEACE" in 17 languages - has been voted to be the winner. Beeing a very impressive work, it has inspired the gallery to promise the children to use it as a symbol to carry the children's wishes in to the world.
For this purpose the foundation "Creative Network of Peace" was founded.
